Contact Lens Exams

Precise Contact Lens Evaluation, Fitting, and Ongoing Management

Whether you are new to contact lenses or updating an existing prescription, our providers deliver clinically driven care based on detailed ocular measurements, careful consideration of contact lens materials, and your vision needs and lifestyle.

A contact lens exam involves a detailed assessment beyond a standard vision prescription. During your visit, our providers:

Evaluate your overall ocular health, including the cornea and ocular surface

Determine or confirm refractive prescription

Measure corneal
curvature, diameter, and surface characteristics

Assess tear film quality and lens tolerance

Perform contact lens fitting with diagnostic or trial lenses to evaluate vision, fit, and stability

Proper lens fit is critical to corneal health, clear vision, and all-day comfort.

Types of Contact Lenses

InFocus Eyecare prescribes and fits a wide range of contact lens modalities, including:

  • Daily disposable contact lenses
  • Monthly replacement lenses
  • Toric lenses for astigmatism
  • Multifocal contact lenses for presbyopia
  • Specialty contact lenses for complex or irregular prescriptions

Our providers explain your options and recommend lenses based on your prescription, daily routine, and comfort preferences.

Scleral Lenses

Scleral lenses are specialized contact lenses designed for patients requiring advanced vision correction, enhanced ocular surface protection, or improved comfort. These larger-diameter lenses rest on the sclera (white part of the eye) and vault the cornea, creating a smooth optical surface and a fluid reservoir over the eye.

Scleral lenses are commonly prescribed for conditions such as irregular corneas, keratoconus, moderate to severe dry eye disease, or corneal scarring.

Each fitting process begins with a comprehensive ocular evaluation and precise measurements to ensure proper lens alignment, stability, and visual outcomes. Ongoing follow-ups allow for adjustments to maximize visual quality and all-day comfort.

Managing Contact Lens Comfort and Eye Health

Successful contact lens wear requires routine clinical monitoring. We evaluate how your eyes respond to contact lenses and address concerns such as dryness, irritation, inflammation, or fluctuating vision.

If necessary, we adjust lens parameters, materials, or replacement schedules to improve eye health and visual stability. Regular evaluations help reduce the risk of contact lens–related complications while supporting stable, clear vision.

Contact Lenses for Teens and Adults

We provide contact lens care for both teen and adult patients. For younger individuals, we assess readiness for contact lens wear and provide clinical instruction on hygiene, handling, and compliance.

For established contact lens wearers, we monitor ocular health and ensure that current lenses remain appropriate for your visual and lifestyle needs.

Each contact lens exam is designed to support long-term eye health, consistent clear vision, and safe, medically supervised contact lens wear.
