Dr. Jay Lott, O.D.
Dr. Jay Lott is a Certified Therapeutic Optometrist providing comprehensive eye care to patients at our Madison location. An Alabama native from Decatur, Dr. Lott discovered his passion for optometry at age 12, when he received his first pair of glasses and experienced an immediate improvement in his quality of life. That moment sparked a lifelong interest in vision care, which deepened through volunteer work at a local eye clinic, where he saw firsthand the difference optometrists make in people’s lives.
Dr. Lott earned his undergraduate education at Auburn University and Athens State University, and completed his optometry training at NSU and IAU.
He focuses on primary eye care and has a strong interest in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of eye conditions, including glaucoma, ocular allergies, dry eye syndrome, and vision issues related to systemic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and thyroid disease. Dr. Lott also provides pre- and post-operative care for a variety of ocular surgeries and is experienced in the latest refractive surgical procedures, including cataracts.
Dr. Lott is an active member of both the American Optometric Association and the Alabama Optometric Association. Outside of the office, he enjoys hiking, kayaking, golf, and cheering on Auburn football with his wife and two children.
