Dr. Charles Descheneaux, OD
Charles Descheneaux earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Western New England College before completing his Doctor of Optometry degree at The New England College of Optometry. He went on to complete a residency at the Brockton and West Roxbury VA Medical Centers, where he gained extensive exposure to a wide range of systemic and ocular conditions in a high-volume clinical environment.
Dr. Descheneaux has a strong interest in the relationship between ocular health and systemic disease, as well as the diagnosis and management of complex eye conditions. He also enjoys the challenge and impact of helping patients achieve clearer, more comfortable vision through specialty contact lenses, which he finds especially rewarding in improving quality of life.
In addition to his clinical training, Dr. Descheneaux is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. He is also actively involved in professional organizations including the American Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association, and the Central Florida Society of Optometric Physicians. He further distinguishes his academic background with a PhD in Modeling and Simulation with an emphasis in human factors.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Descheneaux enjoys hands-on projects around the home, from flooring and painting to woodworking and building custom furniture. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, including visiting wine shops and exploring new wines together.
